Die biografische Bedeutung einer außerschulischen Bildungsförderung im Kontext eines Fußballvereins für sozial benachteiligte Jugendliche mit Migrationsgeschichte

Abstract

In diesem Artikel werden zentrale Ergebnisse einer jugendbiografischen Studie vorgestellt, die die Bildungsverläufe von benachteiligen Jugendlichen mit Migrationsgeschichte auf dem Weg zum Abitur insbesondere unter der Frage untersucht hat, welche biografische Bedeutung eine außerschulische Bildungsförderung im Kontext eines Fußballvereins für deren Bildungskarrieren hat. Nach der Skizzierung der Forschungsansätze und -resultate zu diesem Themengebiet aus der Jugend-, Migrations- und Bildungsforschung werden zunächst die Ziele und das Untersuchungsdesign der durchgeführten qualitativen Studie dargestellt. Anschließend wird an zwei maximal kontrastiven Fällen verdeutlicht, welche ganz unterschiedliche Bedeutung dieses außerschulische Bildungsprojekt für die Bildungsbiografien der beteiligten Jugendlichen haben kann. Ausgehend von diesen Eckfällen wird dann die auf der Basis aller Fallrekonstruktionen herausgearbeitete sinngenetische Typologie skizziert. Abschließend werden die Ergebnisse der jugendbiografischen Studie auf aktuelle Forschungsdiskurse zur Wirkung außerschulischer Nachhilfeprogramme, zu Biografien von Bildungsaufsteiger* innen aus migrantischen Milieus und zur Bildungsarbeit von Fußballvereinen rückbezogen.

This article presents the central results of a youth biographical study that examined the educational trajectories of disadvantaged young people with a migratory background on their way to the Abitur (final secondary school examination), particularly with regard to the question of what biographical significance extracurricular educational support in the context of a football club has for their educational careers. After outlining the research approaches and results on this topic from research on youth, migration and education, the aims and research design of the qualitative study conducted are presented. Subsequently, two contrasting cases are used to illustrate the very different significance that this extracurricular educational project can have for the educational biographies of the young people involved. Starting from these key cases, the typology of biographical meaning that was elaborated on the basis of all the case reconstructions is then outlined. Finally, the results of the youth biographical study are related to the research discourses on the effect of extracurricular tutoring programs, on the biographies of young people from migrant milieus who are climbing the educational ladder and on the educational work of football clubs.
