Der vorliegende Beitrag beleuchtet die Frage, welche Relevanz räumliche Nähe dafür hat, dass Jugendlichen bestimmte Beziehungen bei ihren Zukunftsplanungen hilfreich sind. Dazu wird empirisches Material zu männlichen Hauptschulabsolventen in drei ländlich gelegenen Mittelstädten analysiert. Mithilfe von qualitativen Interviews und einer ego-zentrierten Netzwerkanalyse wird herausgearbeitet, welche Kontakte für den Austausch zu zentralen Zukunftsfragen bedeutsam sind, welche Wohnortdistanzen vorliegen und an welchen Orten Begegnungen stattfinden. The present contribution examines the question about the relevance of spatial proximity for those social ties which are helpful for adolescents planning their future. It is based on empirical data about male secondary school finishers, conducted in three rural medium-sized towns. Qualitative interviews and egocentred network analysis were used to investigate, which social contacts are important regarding exchange on crucial future orientations, which distances exist between involved persons' habitations and where the regular meeting places are.
