"Dieser Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Adressierung von Studierenden in der hochschulischen Praxis in Migrationsgesellschaften und geht der Frage nach, welche Wissensformen der Adressierung von Studierenden 'mit Migrationshintergrund' zugrunde liegen. Am Beispiel von kompensatorischen Förder- und Unterstützungsangeboten sowie Interaktionssituationen in Lehrveranstaltungen werden Praktiken der Besonderung im universitären Alltag analysiert. Auf der Basis zweier empirischer Forschungsprojekte werden Erkenntnismöglichkeiten eines biographieorientierten Zugangs in der Studierendenforschung sowie mögliche Konsequenzen für die pädagogische Praxis des Umgangs mit 'Differenz' an Hochschulen diskutiert." "This article focuses on practices of addressing university students in migration societies. It explores the body of knowledge which forms the basis on which students with a so-called 'migration background' are approached. Everyday-practices of 'othering' in university life are exemplified by analyzing compensatory support programs aimed at students from migrant families, as well as interactions in study courses. Based on two empirical research projects, the potentials of a biography-oriented approach in higher education research are discussed and the possible implications regarding the practice of dealing with 'difference' in higher education are pointed out."
