Am Beispiel von Printmedien, Belletristik und Film wird das Bulgarienbild im deutschen Kaiserreich, der Weimarer Republik, dem Dritten Reich, der Bundesrepublik, der DDR und dem wiedervereinigten Deutschland untersucht. Dabei ist festzustellen, daß es vor allem bündnispolitische Konjunkturen waren, die das deutsche Bild von Bulgarien und den Bulgaren prägten, ja es erst hervorbrachten. The perception of Bulgaria in Imperial Germany, the Weimar Republic, the Third Reich, the Federal Republic, the GDR and post-1990 reunited Germany is highlighted by examples from print media, literature, and film. It are first of all the conjunctures of political and military alliances between Germany and Bulgaria which form the German perception of this Balkan country. More sustainable, yet almost clandestine are Bulgarian features in Germany in art and consumption.... view less
