The School against Drug Addiction of Antioquia in alliance with the IPSI Foundation, and the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, developed between the years 2021 - 2022, a research process focused on the exercises of restorative justice, the monitoring of treatment for drug use, and social reintegration in the framework of the SRPA (System of Criminal Responsibility for Adolescents). This reflection text, based on a qualitative/documentary type of research, contemplated the critical review of regulations and documents (research and reflective articles) on the subject. In the process, conceptions and meanings of social reintegration processes, which are assumed as the center of restorative exercises with adolescents and young offenders, were identified, by finding as a preponderant result that the use of different concepts (integration, reintegration, reinsertion) refer to the process, but, being so diverse in perspective and implications and scope, they are confusing; they are based on schools and/or theoretical perspectives that are in the expert domain, and there is no clear connection with the adolescents' lived experiences and evidence of a lack of knowledge of the procedures on the part of some officials. In addition, the need to work with the family, society, and the State to achieve reintegration is raised, although the empirical results of the research consulted show that these issues are complex to develop. Therefore, the importance of gaining conceptual and methodological clarity, by strengthening the training of officials, and creating crime prevention programs, which articulately include the follow-up of young people after institutionalization, is highlighted.... view less
