The organization of administration is at the core of public administration research, but has until recently not been in the focus of administrative law. The volume gives a very interesting overview of how modern administrative law deals with changing public organizations, especially with 'agencification' both at the European and the German level. We learn a lot about new organizational arrangements, how their tasks, structures and procedures are legally defined, whether and how they fit into existing law and what role the European and German courts play in this. The lawyers stress that they need more empirical evidence and therefore more cooperation with empirical Public Administration, and obviously also social scientists will profit from this kind of detailed legal analysis.
