This research discusses the legal implications of the notary's position as a defendant in a lawsuit to cancel a testamentary grant deed made by him as the deed of parties. Notaries are responsible for ensuring that every deed they make meets the quality and validity standards set by Law. The method used in this research is normative juridical research, which, in this case, can be done by examining various laws and regulations governing the role and responsibilities of notaries in making and cancelling testamentary grant deeds. In cancelling a testamentary grant deed, notaries can face various legal consequences, including administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions, if proven to have committed violations or negligence in making the deed. In addition, notaries are also responsible for storing and archiving deeds properly to ensure that they can be accessed for future legal purposes. This article also examines the legal protections that notaries can take to maintain the integrity of their profession and avoid potential lawsuits. By complying with legal procedures, ensuring the quality and validity of deeds, and implementing strict operational standards in storage and archiving, notaries can minimise legal risks and maintain public trust in their profession.... weniger
