Nach einer Einführung in die Lebenssituation und Potenziale An- und Ungelernter stellen die Autor:innen in ihren Beiträgen Modellprojekte vor, in denen Grundbildung mit berufsfachlicher Ausbildung kombiniert wird. Der zweite Themenstrang befasst sich mit der Validierung nonformal oder informell erworbener beruflicher Kompetenzen. In the process of tertiarisation and technical progress, changed qualification requirements as well as demographic change mean the economy faces big challenges. The more that the number of young skilled workers falls and the need for skilled labour increases, tapping the potential of formally low-skilled workers and those who are formally unqualified gains more in significance. However, the sustainable integration of semi-skilled and unskilled workers in Germany is a task that still needs to be solved. The authors address the question of how the participation of low-skilled workers in education can be increased and how they can exploit their qualifications and competencies on the labour market.
