Este ensayo aborda una forma de inequidad: la segregación. Los enfoques contemporáneos en educación señalan la importancia de reconocer la diversidad de los entornos escolares como una forma de fomentar el respeto y, principalmente, la inclusión de todos y todas en ambientes integrados. Sin embargo, varios estudios recientes muestran que, tanto en el ámbito internacional como en el Perú, esta diversidad no se aprecia en muchas escuelas, que segregan a los estudiantes. Las autoras analizan cómo las políticas que han regulado la elección escolar, la admisión escolar y la asignación de los estudiantes a diferentes trayectorias educativas condicionan o acentúan los niveles de segregación por nivel socioeconómico en el conjunto del sistema educativo peruano. El ensayo apunta a reconocer la segregación donde exista para buscar formas de inclusión que permitan ir fortaleciendo nuestro sistema democrático, en línea con la propuesta del Proyecto Educativo Nacional al 2036 del Consejo Nacional de Educación cuando habla del desarrollo de una ciudadanía plena mediante la educación.... view less

This essay addresses one form of inequity: segregation. Contemporary approaches in education point to the importance of recognising the diversity of school environments as a way of fostering respect and, above all, the inclusion of all in integrated environments. However, several recent studies show that, both internationally and in Peru, this diversity is not appreciated in many schools, which segregate students. The authors analyse how policies that have regulated school choice, school admissions and the allocation of students to different educational trajectories condition or accentuate levels of segregation by socio-economic level in the Peruvian education system as a whole. The essay aims to recognise segregation where it exists in order to seek forms of inclusion that will strengthen our democratic system, in line with the proposal of the National Education Project to 2036 of the National Education Council when it speaks of the development of full citizenship through education.... view less
