Die Umstellung des deutschen Berichtssystems Weiterbildung (BSW) auf das europäisierte Berichtskonzept Adult Education Survey (AES) wird als konzeptioneller Bruch innerhalb der deutschen Berichterstattung wahrgenommen. Die kontinuierliche Erfassung von Weiterbildungsstrukturen im Rahmen des BSW und AES stellt jedoch eine in ihrer Reichweite einmalige Datengrundlage für die deutsche Weiterbildungsberichterstattung dar und bietet das Potenzial, trendspezifische Entwicklungen der Weiterbildungsteilnahme differenziert abzubilden. The change from the German Berichtssystem Weiterbildung (BSW) to the European report concept Adult Education Survey (AES) is considered as conceptual break within the German reporting. However, the continual monitoring of further education through BSW and AES provides a unique database for German further education reporting. In addition, it offers the possibility to map trend-specific developments of further education in a differentiated manner. This article discusses possibilities and limits of continuous observation of further education based on data from the BSW and the AES databases.
