Der Artikel fragt nach einer gegenstandsadäquaten Methode der qualitativen Untersuchung von Apps und stellt dazu eine für die Analyse von Subjektivierung sensibilisierte Variante der Walkthrough-Methode vor. Apps werden dabei als multimediale Mikrodispositive verstanden, die eine Antwort auf einen gesellschaftlichen Notstand (eine urgence im Sinne Foucaults) darstellen und sich innerhalb eines Makrodispositivs historisch gewachsener Machtverhältnisse bewegen. Die Herausforderung der Methode besteht darin, eine Verbindung zwischen enaktiver Feinanalyse des Interfaces (Zooming In) und einer damit verbundenen gesellschaftlichen Makroperspektive (Zooming Out) greifbar zu machen. In asking for a suitable method for the qualitative analysis of mobile apps, this paper presents a variation of the walkthrough method sensitized for the analysis of subjectivation. In doing so, apps are understood as multimodal micro-dispositifs that answer a societal urgency (in the sense of Foucault) and unfold within the macro-dispositif of power relations in a particular historical moment. The crucial challenge of the method is to link the detailed enactive analysis of an app's interface (zooming in) with a related societal macro-perspective (zooming-out).
