Auf der Suche nach Erklärungen für den "gender gap" in den unterschiedlichen Lebenserwartungen von Männern und Frauen geraten vermehrt Zusammenhänge von Gesundheitshandeln und Geschlechterkonstruktionen in den Blick. Der Artikel präsentiert Ergebnisse einer qualitativen Interview-Studie mit 40 (Schweizer) Männern zwischen 30 und 60 Jahren zu subjektiven Gesundheitsvorstellungen und Gesundheitshandeln. On the search for explanations of the 'gender gap' in differential life expectancies between men and women, the connection between health actions and gender constructions has come under consideration. The article presents the results of qualitative interviews with forty Swiss men aged between thirty and sixty on their subjective perceptions of health and health actions. Using selected thematic approaches, on performance, the significance of physical fitness, dealing with feelings and pain, the work analyses the connection between conceptions of health and old and new constructions of masculinity.... view less
