This study provides a data based contribution to the debate about the design of the work environment 4.0 in Nordrhein-Westfalen. It is based on descriptive analysis of the representative BIBB/BAuA employment survey from 2012. The results are presented for the Germany-wide total sample (n = 20 036) as well as for a subsample of 4259 individuals whose residence is located in Nordrhein-Westfalen. The results are processed along six coordinates and resources that turned out to be particularly relevant for the working environment 4.0: (1) qualification and (2) training, (3) use of IT systems and changes in the workplace, (4) elimitation, (5) health and (6) labouring capacity. Results will be compared in between specially formed educational and skill clusters.... view less
