Mai 2014 trafen sich ExpertInnen aus den WEP 5 Ländern im Rahmen eines Workshops am Österreichischen Institut für Internationale Politik, um gemeinsam über den Status und die Zukunft der NATO-Partnerschaften zu reflektieren. Im Zentrum standen hierbei die Strategien, Präferenzen und Erwartungen von Österreich, Finnland, Irland, Schweden und der Schweiz. Berücksichtigt und analysiert wurden auch der regionale wie globale Kontext, vor allem die aktuelle Lage in der Ukraine und die möglichen Konsequenzen für die NATO-Russland-Beziehungen. On May 5th, 2014, experts from the WEP 5 countries and NATO met at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs in order to discuss NATO's partnerships in general as well as the related policies, expectations, and preferences of Austria, Finland, Ireland, Sweden and Switzerland in particular. The discussion, of course, also reflected on the broader strategic context while giving special consideration to the potential implications of the crisis in Ukraine and the consequential deterioration of relations with Russia.
