Empowerment auf der Ebene der psychosozialen Praxis und qualitative Methoden auf der Ebene der Forschung können ein gemeinsames Anliegen formulieren: Die klassische Subjekt-Objekt Beziehung zwischen Psychoprofis und ihren KlientInnen bzw. zwischen ForscherInnen und ihren ProbandInnen in Richtung einer Begegnung als Subjekte zu verändern. Nicht die ExpertInnen allein planen und kontrollieren Form und Inhalt des Therapie bzw. Forschungsprozesses, neue Sichtweisen und Wirklichkeitskonstruktionen werden in der Auseinandersetzung mit den KientInnen/ Untersuchungssubjekten gewonnen. Anhand einer qualitativen Untersuchung über Möglichkeiten und Bedingungen von Selbsthilfe und Empowerment in einer Freizeitgruppe für Psychiatrie-Erfahrene, sollen Beispiele für ein entsprechendes methodisches Vorgehen und Konsequenzen für die psychosoziale Praxis aufgezeigt werden.... view less

Empowerment at the level of psychosocial practice and qualitative methods at the research level can define a joint interest: To change the classical subject-object relationship between professional psychologists and their clients and between researchers and their patients, respectively, into an interaction of subjects. Experts are not the only ones who plan and control the design and content of processes in therapy and research. In discussion with clients/patients new insights and constructions of reality are won. Examples for a corresponding methodical procedure and consequences for the psychosocial practice are given. A qualitative study about the possibilities of and requirements for self-help and Empowerment in a leisure time group for Psychiatry-experienced persons is introduced for this purpose.... view less
