"In dem Artikel werden Ergebnisse eines DFG-Projekts zu Schuleingangsuntersuchungen (SEUen) vorgestellt. Die SEUen sind in den Schulgesetzen der Bundesländer als verpflichtend geregelt, werden durch Mediziner der unteren Gesundheitsbehörden durchgeführt und sollen sowohl individualdiagnostische als auch epidemiologische Funktionen erfüllen. Der Artikel stellt die Frage, ob und wie beide Funktionen in der Durchführung der SEUen praktisch kompatibel gemacht werden. Er diskutiert am Beispiel der diagnostischen Überprüfungen von motorischer und sprachlicher Entwicklung in einem Sample von 132 beobachteten SEUen die These, dass die praktischen Formen der Professionellen, individualdiagnostische und epidemiologische Funktionen zu vereinbaren, problematische Effekte auf die Produktion von gesundheitsstatistischen Daten zeitigen (können)." "This article presents results of a practice analytical research project (funded by the German Research Association, DFG) on school entry medical checkups in Germany. The checkups are compulsory by law, conducted by public health authorities and are aimed at fulfilling individual diagnostic as well as epidemiological functions. The article asks if and how both functions are made compatible in the conduct of the checkups. Using examples from motor and language development diagnostics in a sample of 132 observed school entry checkups it discusses the hypothesis that the professionals' practical forms of arranging individual diagnostic and epidemiological functions can yield problematic effects on the production of health statistical data."
