Emotionen in engen Beziehungen: zum Verhältnis von "Commitment", "Liebe" und "Rational-Choice"

Abstract

"In dem Beitrag wird auf die Bedeutung der 'romantischen Liebe' für die Entstehung und den Zerfall von engen Beziehungen eingegangen. Diese gehört üblicherweise nicht zum Explanandum der Austauschtheorie und der ökonomischen Familientheorie, da beide Ansätze 'Liebe' in der spezifischen Form von 'commitment' thematisieren. Nach einer kurzen Skizzierung der Funktionen und Theorien von Emotionen, wird im Anschluss an E. Berscheid die Entstehung und Veränderung der 'romantischen Liebe' und ihre Relevanz für die Auflösung von Beziehungen dargestellt. Abschließend wird auf den ergänzenden Charakter von Emotionstheorien und Rational-Choice-Theorien hingewiesen: Emotionstheorien sind bedeutsam für Handlungspräferenzen, Rational-Choice- Theorien für die Wahl von Handlungsalternativen bei gegebenen Präferenzen." "The article deals with the meaning of 'romantic love' for the beginning and the decay of close relationships. Usually, this topic does not belong to the 'explananda' of the 'exchange theory' and the 'economic theory of the family', because in both assessments 'love' is understood as a specific way of 'commitment'. First the functions of theories concerning emotions are shortly sketched. Then, the beginning and the changes of 'romantic love' and its relevance for the untieing of close relationships are discussed in addition to the reflections of E. Berscheid. Finally, the supplementary character of 'theories of emotion' and 'rational choice theories' is pointed out: theories of emotion are significant for preferences of action, rational choice theories can be used to explain the decision of a specific alternative under the limits of given preferences."
