Nationalstaatliche Entgrenzung und kosmopolitische Politisierung

Abstract

"Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit dem Entstehen kosmopolitischer Orientierungen im Zuge nationalstaatlicher Entgrenzung. Ausgehend von der neueren Literatur zum Kosmopolitismus im Kontext gesellschaftlicher Transformation wird nach den sozialen Grundlagen zugeschriebener supranationaler und weltgemeinschaftlicher politischer Verantwortung gefragt. Dabei wird die These aufgegriffen, dass sich mit zunehmenden Erfahrungen der Grenzüberschreitung und Transnationalisierung die normativen und kognitiven Horizonte der Bürger in Richtung einer globalen Verantwortungsethik verändern. Diese These wird auf der Grundlage einer Surveybefragung der deutschen Bevölkerung überprüft (Survey Transnationalisierung 2006). Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass mit einer zunehmenden individuellen Einbindung in transnationale Zusammenhänge die Problemlösungskompetenz stärker den internationalen Organisationen zugeschrieben und eine größere Verantwortung der Weltgemeinschaft eingefordert wird." "The article addresses the emergence of cosmopolitan attitudes within the context of the debordering of nation-states. Starting from the recent literature on cosmopolitanism in the context of social transformation it asks for the social basis of shifting responsibility to the supra-national level or the world community. Of central interest is the thesis that with the intensification of cross-border interaction and transnational experiences also the cognitive and normative horizons of individuals will widen, placing more emphasis of global responsibility. This thesis is scrutinized by making use of survey data (Survey Transnationalisierung 2006). The findings show that with a higher degree of involvement in transnational activities citizens' also see international organizations as more competent in solving political problems and attribute more responsibility to the world community."
