(Autorenreferat)... view less

"Since 2001, the WTO member states have been negotiating a new agreement on the reduction of trade barriers. But what will be the welfare effects of this so called Doha Development Agenda? Who will gain what and by how much? These questions lie at the center of this DGAP Analysis. On the basis of different liberalization scenarios, the study analyses which negotiation areas promise the greatest welfare gains and how these will be allocated globally. Thus, agriculture, non-agricultural market access and services are assessed with regard to their importance in world trade and the present state of negotiations. On this basis, prognoses for the final outcome of the Doha Round are developed which constitute the basis for policy recommendations." (author's abstract)... view less
