The paper explores the bodily presence in location-based mobile games testing out theoretical approaches of postphenomenology (Ihde) and authentic movement. Ihde's postphenomenology, which grounds on relational ontology and explores presence in relations with technologies, focuses on immediate empirical presence, while authentic movement adds an extended toolkit for describing bodily experience and its transformation. Based on participant observation and video recording of gaming processes in Pokémon Go as initial sources, this paper also makes an attempt to examine the inner dimension of gaming experience via interviews with gamers and their interpretation of gaming experiences. The sensory dimension of gaming experience shows the ambiguity of interpretation of embodied technological transformations exclusively as extensions or augmentation. It emphasizes the complexity of the empirical coexistence of actual and virtual, where different embodied forms of subjects appear. Therefore, the body can be considered as an instrument of co-presence, as well as an interface between inner state and environment.
