The article proves the necessity of singling out the strategy as an independent field of economic knowledge in the professional sphere of activity. In Russia, there is practically no full- fledged perception of the "strategist" profession, although in the world's leading universities, the approach to strategy as an independent profession that can be learned is widely implemented. In modern Russian realities, economic agents of all levels present strategic documents in one form or another, but they are developed, as a rule, by people who do not have special knowledge and skills of theory and practice of strategic planning. Created in 2007 in the Moscow School of Economics, Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov Department of Financial Strategy is the only one in Russia that prepare such a professionals. For 10 years the department has been carrying out comprehensive training of specialists in the field of theory of strategy and practice of strategic planning, according to the methodology of Professor V.L.
