%X Two trends are transforming contemporary Uzbek-Russian relations: first, the leadership change following long-serving president Islam Karimov's death and Shavkat Mirziyoye's election as president of Uzbekistan; and second, Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine. This short paper analyses the influence of both domestic and external changes on the two countries' relations.
