Das Recht der gesetzlichen Rentenversicherung ermöglicht unterschiedliche Formen des Rentenübergangs. Der Forschungsbericht untersucht, wie diese Formen von Beschäftigten eingeordnet und bewertet werden, die kurz vor dem Rentenbeginn stehen. Hierfür wurden vier Fokusgruppendiskussionen durchgeführt. Es werden insbesondere die Fragen behandelt, wie die Teilnehmenden der Fokusgruppen sich über den anstehenden Renteneintritt informieren und welche betrieblichen und gesetzlichen Rahmenbedingungen für eine Verlängerung ihres Erwerbslebens als relevant erachtet werden. This research report examines how older employees who are about to retire evaluate different ways of retirement that are possible under the statutory pension insurance scheme. The aim of the study is to analyse the conditions under which different ways of retirement are attractive to employees. To this end, four focus groups were conducted with a total of 33 participants aged between 60 and 66 years who are employed, subject to social insurance contributions, and are not yet drawing an old-age pension. The results show different preferences for the various pension transition options. However, the familiar, established and ultimately also "simple" transition paths dominate, notably the "classic" scenario with retirement on reaching the standard retirement age, and the scenario of early retirement with pension deductions. This is due to the simplicity of the rules, the dominant interests of the older employees and the flexibility they maintain with regard to possible continued employment. In addition, there is a widespread preference to be able to retire at short notice. However, the focus groups also showed very clearly that the rejection of deferred retirement is not synonymous with a complete withdrawal from gainful employment.... view less
