Für eine gegenstandsadäquate Erforschung des Menschen in Bereichen der medizinischen Versorgung

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag werden theoretische Argumente und praktische Beispiele für eine gegenstandsadäquate Erforschung und Behandlung des Menschen in der medizinischen Versorgung dargestellt. Ausgangspunkt ist eine methodische Einseitigkeit, die sich auch in den Bereichen der Krankheitsbewältigung und der Psychotherapie zeigt. Diese einseitige Erforschung des Patienten führt zu einer Reduktion des Menschen. Da in den Bereichen der Krankheitsbewältigung und der Psychotherapie die individuelle Sinngebung eine zentrale Rolle spielt, führt die wissenschaftliche Vernachlässigung der Modellbildungskompetenz zu besonders negativen Konsequenzen. Diese zeigen sich sowohl in unbefriedigenden Forschungsergebnissen als auch in einer Unzufriedenheit der Patienten mit der Behandlung. Eigene Untersuchungen vor dem Hintergrund des Forschungsprogramms Subjektive Theorien zeigen alternative Forschungsmöglichkeiten auf, die sich auch auf die konkrete Behandlungspraxis positiv auswirken. Für den Bereich der Psychotherapie wird eine Integration verschiedener therapeutischer Herangehensweisen vorgestellt, welche bestehende Reduktionismen einzelner Schulen aufhebt und so zu einer anthropologisch nicht-reduktiven Therapie führt.

In this paper theoretical arguments and practical examples are presented in favour of research methods appropriate to their subject matter: the study and treatment of human beings in the context of medical care. The point of departure is a methodological one-sidedness in the areas of coping behaviour and psychotherapy. This one-sided exploration of the patient leads to a reduction of his or her humanity. As in the areas of coping behaviour and psychotherapy, the individual search for meaning plays a central role, the scientific neglect of its competency to construct viable models has especially negative consequences which are seen in both the unsatisfactory research findings and in the discontent of patients with their treatment. Studies of my own which have grown out of the research programme 'Subjective Theories' offer alternative possibilities for research that have a positive effect on the concrete treatment situation. Within the area of psychotherapy, an integration of various therapeutical procedures is presented which offsets the existing reductionist tendencies within individual schools and in so doing opens the way to an anthropologically appropriate non-reductionist therapeutic method.

En este trabajo se presentan argumentos teóricos y ejemplos prácticos a favor de los métodos de investigación que son pertinentes al tema de investigación: el estudio y tratamiento de seres humanos que reciben tratamiento médico. El punto de partida es una metodología parcializada en las áreas de las conductas de afrontamiento y la psicoterapia. Esta exploración sesgada del paciente conduce al menosprecio de su humanidad. En estas áreas, los intentos individuales de crear sentido tienen un papel central y por esta razón la negligencia de los científicos paa construir modelos viables tiene consecuencias especialmente negativas tanto con relación a los resultados insatisfactorios de las investigaciones como en el descontento de los pacientes con su tratamiento. Mis estudios, que han surgido del programa investigativo "Teorías Subjetivas" han producido posibilidades alternas para la investigación que tienen un efecto positivo en la situación concreta del tratamiento. Dentro del área de la psicoterapia, se presenta una integración de varios procedimientos terapeúticos que cuestiona las tendencias reduccionistas de las escuelas individuales y abre una vía hacia un método terapeútico no-reduccionista, adecuado en el sentido antropológico.
