Vivencias familiares de presos políticos en el departamento del Cauca, una mirada desde la salud mental

Abstract

In Colombia there are various effects and violations towards political prisoners and their families due to their role as human rights defenders, and the events that they must go through throughout this process, which unleashes a series of changes in their lives that have repercussions on their lives emotional and social spheres, highlighting that violations of their rights are not recognized and therefore there is a tendency to normalize them, both by the people involved in the act, and by the institutions designed to ensure the welfare of these populations. The functions performed by the psychologist in prisons are limited by various barriers that are generated within these institutions, based on the aforementioned; the mental health needs of the inmates and their families are triggered, identifying special care with the prisoners political due to the high vulnerability of this population.

En Colombia se presentan diversas afectaciones y vulneraciones hacia los presos políticos y sus familias debido a su rol como defensores de derechos humanos, y a los hechos que deben atravesar durante todo este proceso, lo que desencadena una serie de cambios en sus vidas que repercuten en sus esferas emocionales y sociales, destacando que las vulneraciones a sus derechos no son reconocidas y por tanto se presenta una tendencia a normalizarlas, tanto por las personas involucradas en el hecho, como por las instituciones destinadas a velar por el bienestar de estas poblaciones. Las funciones que desempeña el psicólogo en centros penitenciarios se ven limitadas por diversas barreras que se generan al interior de estas instituciones, con base en lo mencionado, se desencadenan necesidades en la salud mental de los reclusos y sus familias, identificando especial cuidado con los presos políticos debido a la alta vulnerabilidad que presenta esta población.
