NATO, by its Spanish acronym, is an organization of political-military cooperation created in the framework of the Cold War, which confronted two hegemonic world blocks, by representing two preponderant ideologies of the 20th century, capitalism and communism. After the symbolic "defeat" of communism with the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989) and the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) (1991).
