Picture the Practice—Using Photography to Explore Use of Technology Within Teachers' Work Practices

Abstract

Dieser Artikel beschreibt Fotografie als Mittel der Datenerhebung und -analyse am Beispiel einer Studie über die Technologienutzung in der Arbeitspraxis von Lehrern und Lehrerinnen. Zum einen werden Anwendungsmöglichkeiten visueller Techniken in Arbeitsplatzstudien im allgemeinen aufgezeigt, zum anderen werden die Gründe diskutiert, die zum Gebrauch von Fotografien in der eigenen Studie geführt haben. Ausgehend von den Erfahrungen, die in der hier geschriebenen Studie gesammelt wurden, werden Datenerhebungs- und Analysemethoden beschrieben. Abschließend werden empirische und methodische Ergebnisse diskutiert.

This article describes photography as a means for data collection and analysis in a workplace study on the use of technology within teachers' work practices. Examples of visual technology applications within workplace studies are outlined and the source of inspiration behind the use of photography in this particular workplace study is described. With a point of departure in stories from the study at hand, the experiences from photography for both data collection and analysis appear. The article concludes with reflections on both the empirical and the methodological results.

Este artículo describe la fotografía como medio de recolección y análisis de datos en un estudio en el lugar de trabajo sobre el uso de la tecnología en las prácticas de trabajo de los maestros. Se reseñan ejemplos de aplicaciones de tecnología visual en estudios en lugares de trabajo y se describe la fuente de inspiración que subyace el empleo de la fotografía en este estudio particular en el lugar de trabajo. Como punto de partida en las historias del estudio a mano, aparecen las experiencias de la fotografía para la recolección y análisis de los datos. El artículo concluye con reflexiones sobre los resultados empíricos y metodológicos.
