En este ensayo, los autores se enfocan en un tema específico, que es el modelo de Conocimiento Tecnológico, Pedagógico y Disciplinar (TPACK, por sus siglas en inglés). La adopción de este modelo - o de otros - podría contribuir a guiar la tan esperada y necesaria reforma de la formación inicial y el desarrollo profesional docente, que debería formar parte de una estrategia más amplia dirigida a seguir reforzando la carrera docente. Los autores revisan brevemente los programas e iniciativas de educación digital planteadas durante los últimos años, que no han logrado el éxito esperado, generándose así una brecha digital. Finalmente, se plantean estrategias para fortalecer las competencias docentes, empezando por un diagnóstico que permita planificar programas y prever recursos. In this essay, the authors focus on a specific topic, namely the Technological, Pedagogical and Disciplinary Knowledge (TPACK) model. The adoption of this model - or others - could help guide the long-awaited and much-needed reform of initial teacher education and professional development, which should be part of a broader strategy aimed at further strengthening the teaching career. The authors briefly review the digital education programmes and initiatives proposed in recent years, which have not been as successful as expected, thus creating a digital divide. Finally, they propose strategies to strengthen teaching competences, starting with a diagnosis that allows planning programmes and providing resources.
