La pandemia del COVID-19 ha causado una parada súbita de la economía. ¿De qué manera esta situación ha afectado el trabajo de las mujeres en América Latina? La respuesta a esta interrogante demanda enfocar la política en los impactos diferenciados entre mujeres y hombres. Con ello, es necesario evitar fórmulas generalizadas que eventualmente profundicen las brechas de género. Este documento explora los impactos de género de la crisis económica en 16 países de la región, vistos desde cuatro perspectivas: las jóvenes, las mujeres pobres, las personas que viven en el ámbito rural y las cabezas del hogar. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a sudden economic shutdown. How has this situation affected the work of women in Latin America? The answer to this question demands a policy focus on the differentiated impacts between women and men. With this, it is necessary to avoid generalized formulas that eventually deepen gender gaps. This document explores the gender impacts of the economic crisis in 16 countries in the region, seen from four perspectives: young women, poor women, people living in rural areas and heads of household.
