Editorial: Die aktuelle FQS-Schwerpunktausgabe "Doing Biographical Research". FQS als Beispiel für vier Jahre Open Access in den deutschen Sozialwissenschaften

Abstract

In FQS 4(3) – "Doing Biographical Research" – beschäftigen sich Wissenschaftler(innen) aus unterschiedlichen disziplinären und nationalen Blickwinkeln mit dem Interview mit einer in Deutschland lebenden türkischen Arbeitsmigrantin. Neben diesen unmittelbar dem Themenschwerpunkt zugehörigen Aufsätzen enthält FQS 4(3) acht Einzelbeiträge, neun Literaturbesprechungen und zwei Tagungsberichte von Sozialwissenschaftler(inne)n aus insgesamt acht Ländern und sieben Disziplinen. Damit wurden seit Erscheinen der ersten Schwerpunktausgabe im Januar 2000 in FQS beinahe 450 Artikel veröffentlicht. In dem Beitrag werden die neue Schwerpunktausgabe und FQS als Beispiel einer dem Open Access verpflichteten sozialwissenschaftlichen Online-Zeitschrift kurz skizziert. FQS wird in das Ensemble deutscher Projekte eingeordnet, die Teil der internationalen Bemühungen um die weltweit freie Zugänglichkeit wissenschaftlicher Fachinformationen sind.

In FQS 4(3)—"Doing Biographical Research"—social scientists discuss from different disciplinary and national stances the interview with Hülya, a Turkish migrant living and working in Germany. In addition to contributions linked directly to the issue topic, eight single contributions, nine review essays and review notes and two conference reports are published, coming from researchers from eight nations and seven academic disciplines. Approximately 450 articles have been published since the first FQS issue was accessible on-line in January 2000. In addition to the contributions to the new issue "Doing Biographical Research," the current state of FQS is briefly reviewed. FQS is also discussed as an example for social science open access journals, being part of the open access initiatives which aim to make scientific information accessible worldwide free of cost.

En FQS 4(3) – "Haciendo investigación biográfica" – científicos sociales discutieron desde diferentes posturas nacionales y disciplinarias la entrevista con Hülya, una migrante turca que vive y trabaja en Alemania. Además de las contribuciones vinculadas directamente a este tema se reportan otras ocho contribuciones, nueve ensayos y notas de revisión, y dos reportes de conferencia, que fueron proporcionados por investigadores de ocho naciones y siete disciplinas académicas. Aproximadamente 450 artículos han sido publicados desde que el primer número de FQS se puso disponible en línea en enero del 2000. Se suma a las contribuciones del nuevo número "Haciendo investigación biográfica" una breve revisión de la situación actual de. Se discute FQS como un ejemplo del acceso gratuito a revistas de ciencia social, que es parte de las iniciativas de acceso libre que pretenden hacer la información científica accesible a nivel mundial sin costo alguno.
