Review: Christof Beyer (2004). Der Erfurter Amoklauf in der Presse. Unerklärlichkeit und die Macht der Erklärung: Eine Diskursanalyse anhand zweier ausgewählter Beispiele

Abstract

BEYER legt eine diskursanalytische Studie zur Presseberichterstattung über den Erfurter Amoklauf von Robert Steinhäuser vor. Die Anwendung der diskurstheoretischen Analysekategorien von Michel FOUCAULT sowie der diskursanalytischen Kategorien von Jürgen LINK zeigt im Ergebnis, dass die Diskursivierung des Subjekts anhand der Trennung von Normalität und Abweichung vollzogen wird. Dies bildet dann die Grundlage für die Begründung von Konsequenzen des Erfurter Amoklaufs. Dabei steht der Täter als vermeintlicher Prototyp der Abweichung im Mittelpunkt des Interesses, ohne die Grundstruktur der Organisation von Macht und Wissen in Frage zu stellen.

BEYER provides a discourse analytical study concerning the press coverage of the amok run** in Erfurt committed by Robert Steinhäuser. He applies the analytical categories used by two representatives of discourse analysis, Michel FOUCAULT and Jürgen LINK, and comes to the conclusion that the discourse about the subject is a matter of normality and aberration. This difference serves as a basic principle in order to explain the consequences of the amok run, thereby, the focus is on the perpetrator. He symbolizes the prototype of aberration, without questioning the fundamental organization of power and knowledge.

BEYER aporta un estudio analítico discursivo acerca a la cobertura en la prensa del enloquecimiento** en Erfurt protagonizado por Robert Steinhäuser. El autor aplica las categorías analíticas empleadas por dos representantes del análisis de discurso, Michel FOUCAULT y Jürgen LINK, y llega a la conclusión de que el discurso sobre el tema es una forma de normalidad y aberración. Esta diferencia sirve como un principio básico para explicar las consecuencias del enloquecimiento, de modo que la atención recae sobre el perpetrador. Él simboliza el prototipo de aberración, sin cuestionarse la organización fundamental de poder y conocimiento.
