Review: Carlos Kölbl (2004). Geschichtsbewußtsein im Jugendalter. Grundzüge einer Entwicklungspsychologie historischer Sinnbildung

Abstract

Das Buch stellt eine empirische Studie historischer Sinnbildung bei Jugendlichen dar und widerlegt damit ein gängiges Stereotyp, dass Jugendliche über wenig oder gar kein Geschichtsbewusstsein verfügten. Vielmehr sind verschiedene Sinnbildungstypen rekonstruierbar, die in der Summe als modernes und postmodernes Geschichtsbewusstsein ausgewiesen werden können. Mithilfe der Methoden der Grounded Theory gelingt es dem Autor, die Perspektiven der analysierten Gruppeninterviews sowohl in entwicklungspsychologischer Hinsicht (in Anlehnung an WYGOTSKI) als auch in Bezug auf eine historisch vermittelte Identität Jugendlicher zu erschließen.

This book contains an empirical study of adolescents' historical perceptiveness and thus offers evidence contrary to the common stereotype that adolescents possess little, if any, consciousness of the past. A range of perception-forming models can be constructed and these can collectively be seen to represent a modern and postmodern historical consciousness. Using the methods of Grounded Theory, the author presents the reader with new perspectives on documented group interviews from the perspective of developmental/psychological hermeneutics according to WYGOTSKI and also takes into account adolescents' historical self-portraits.

Este libro contiene un estudio empírico del sentido histórico de los adolescentes y ofrece así evidencia contraria al estereotipo común de que los jóvenes poseen poca o ninguna conciencia histórica. Puede construirse un rango de modelos de hacer sentido de la historia y éstos pueden verse colectivamente como representaciones de una conciencia histórica moderna y posmoderna. Con los métodos de la teoría fundamentada, el autor presenta al lector nuevas perspectivas a discusiones de grupo desde la perspectiva de una hermeneutica evolutiva/psicológica de acuerdo con WYGOTSKI y también toma en cuenta auto-retratos históricos de los adolescentes.
