The Duplicity of Testimonial Interviews—Unfolding and Utilising Multiple Temporalisation in Compound Procedures and Projects

Abstract

Dieser Artikel geht der Relevanz multipler Verzeitlichungen für die Diskursanalyse von Zeugenbefragungen nach. Schritt für Schritt und mittels einer Reihe empirischer Fallstudien erweitert der Autor das analytische Feld (von Fragen und Fragekomplexen bis hin zur Befragungen mit Hilfe von Akten und Archiven). Zielsetzung ist die Rekonstruktion der effizienten Ressourcen und Mittel forensischer und administrativer Befragungen. Die Interviews erweisen sich als äußerst wirkungsmächtig, sobald sie Duplizität entfalten, womit eine partielle Trennung von Sprachproduktion und Sprachrezeption gemeint ist. Abschließend argumentiert der Autor zugunsten einer symmetrischen Sichtweise auf wissenschaftliche (qualitative) Interviews und forensische Befragungen. Die Trennung von Produktion und Rezeption wird in der qualitativen Methodik weitgehend ignoriert.

This article inquires the relevancy of multiple temporalisations for the discourse analysis of testimonial interviews. Step by step and by help of a range of empirical cases, the author widens the analytical scope (from questions, lines of questions, to supported interrogation by help of files and archives). He does so in order to reconstruct the efficient resources and means of forensic and administrative interrogations. The interviews turn out to be most powerful once they establish duplicity, meaning a partial separation of speech-production and speech-reception. Conclusively the author argues for a symmetrical view on scientific (qualitative) interviews and forensic interrogation. The separation of production and reception is widely ignored in qualitative methods.

Este artículo indaga sobre la relevancia de múltiples temporalizaciones para el análisis del discurso de entrevistas testimoniales. Paso a paso y con la ayuda de un conjunto de casos empíricos, el autor extiende el alcance analítico (desde preguntas, líneas de preguntas, hasta interrogación asistida con ayuda de registros y archivos). Lo hace con el fin de reconstruir los recursos eficientes e instrumentos de interrogatorios forenses y administrativos. Las entrevistas se hacen más poderosas una vez establecen duplicidad, significando una separación parcial de la producción del discurso y la recepción del mismo. Como conclusión el autor defiende una perspectiva simétrica en entrevistas científicas (cualitativas) e interrogatorios forenses. La separación de la producción y la recepción es ampliamente ignorada en métodos cualitativos.
