The article deals with a rather new and unresearched phenomenon called pup play. Sharing similarities with kinks like a preference for rubber, leather or BDSM, pup play sees itself as part of the broader fetish-spectrum, although it’s not inherently sexual. I present some key aspects of my own research with and within the German pup play community. Since there hasn’t been done a lot of research yet, I argue to take different aspects of kinks and affiliated practices into consideration for further academic research.... view less
