This paper is based on an ethnographic master's thesis research from 2020 and 2021 for which more than 20 guided interviews, informal conversations, press material and popular culture such as advice literature, podcasts or blogs were analyzed. Ethnographic case studies are used to reconstruct how the assemblage concept can be utilized as a productive cultural analytical perspective to interpret the biographical revenge stories, narratives and argumentation strategies contained in them. This paper therefore asks how the affective assemblage "revenge" emerges and what this research approach can offer for the analysis of emotions and affects in social relationshops in cultural anthropology even though they have been damaged and no longer exist.... view less
