La investigación biográfica y narrativa en Iberoamérica: Campos de desarrollo y estado actual

Abstract

Biographisch-narrativer Forschung kommt innerhalb qualitativer Forschung ein eigenes Profil zu, und diese Forschungsrichtung erhält wachsende Aufmerksamkeit. In diesem Beitrag werden die Ursprünge, Entwicklungslinien und aktuelle Varianten biographisch-narrativer Ansätze in den iberoamerikanischen Sozialwissenschaften nachvollzogen. Hierzu wird ein breiter Überblick geleistet und es werden die wesentlichsten Bereiche narrativer und (auto-) biographischer Ansätze skizziert. Ziel ist der synchrone und diachrone Zugang zur aktuellen Landschaft, indem 1. ein breiter Überblick über biographisch-narrative Forschung in ihrer Unterschiedlichkeit und Heterogenität gewährt wird, 2. Ursachen und Gründe für die aktuelle Bedeutsamkeit dieser Ansätze in den Iberoamerikanischen Sozialwissenschaften beleuchtet und 3. zentrale Fragen und Entwicklungslinien in prospektiver Absicht skizziert sowie 4. die wesentlichsten Orientierungen, diejenigen Instrumente und Schlüsselcharakteristika umrissen werden, die für narrativ-biografische Forschung essentiell sind.

Currently, biographical-narrative inquiry has its identity within qualitative research, and it merits attention. This article reviews and describes the biographical-narrative research origin, development and variants in the social sciences of Iberoamerican countries. It offers a broad overview of this field of investigation, defining the main areas of narrative and (auto)biographical inquiry. In this context, it is opted to do a synchronic and a diachronic approach to the current situation. It is based on development and experienced training in this field: 1) It offers a biographical-narrative research characterization about diverse and heterogeneous modalities, methodological variants, forms and dimensions 2) It highlights the roots and the reasons for the current relevance of this approach in social research in the Iberoamerican setting. 3) It describes the main questions and the approach progression, adopting a prospective point of view. 4) It describes the most relevant orientations, the most noteworthy instruments and the key characteristics that must be present in this type of investigation.

La investigación biográfico-narrativa tiene hoy una identidad propia dentro de la investigación cualitativa, que merece atención. El artículo revisa y muestra los orígenes, desarrollo y variantes del enfoque de investigación biográfico-narrativa en Ciencias Sociales en los países iberoamericanos. Ofrece un amplio panorama de este campo de investigación, delimitando las principales áreas de investigación narrativa y (auto)biográfica. Opta por un abordaje sincrónico y diacrónico del estado de la cuestión en este contexto. Y desde el desarrollo del campo y los aprendizajes vividos en este escenario: 1) Ofrece una amplia caracterización de la investigación biográfico-narrativa, en sus diversas y heterogéneas modalidades, variantes metodológicas, formas y dimensiones. 2) Destaca las raíces y los motivos de la relevancia actual del enfoque en la investigación social en el ámbito iberoamericano. 3) Recoge los principales cuestionamientos y desarrollos del enfoque, apostando por una línea de asentamiento con prospectiva. 4) Describe las orientaciones más relevantes, los instrumentos más destacables y las principales claves que han de estar presentes en este tipo de investigación.
