Der Beitrag untersucht die Bedeutung von Gender als interdependenter Kategorie in der transnationalen Schule hinsichtlich der Ermöglichung sozialer Mobilität. Die These lautet, dass die schulisch repräsentierten Wissensbestände zu Geschlechterordnungen im transnationalen Gefüge von Internationalisierung und Migration Hinweise auf soziale Mobilitätschancen enthalten, die mithilfe der Schulkulturanalyse rekonstruiert werden können. Anhand von zwei Fallbeispielen wird herausgearbeitet, wie sich Zuschreibungen aufgrund von Gender mit Konzepten von Ethnizität/Race verbinden und so Möglichkeitsräume sozialer Mobilität entstehen, die über Teilhabe und Ausschluss prozessiert werden.... view less

This article examines the importance of gender as an interdependent category in transnational schools with regard to enabling social mobility. The thesis is that a knowledge of those gender orders which are present in schools within the transnational structure of internationalization and migration includes pointers towards opportunities for social mobility that can be reconstructed by analysing school cultures. Drawing on two case studies, we look at how gender-based attributions are combined with concepts of ethnicity/race to create opportunities for social mobility that are processed through participation and exclusion.... view less
