The reflection of the idea of the leading role of native land is decided by the fact that the primary attention is determined by the interest in the concept of the revival of national identity. The aim of the article is addressed to the formation of ideas about the reflection of native land during periods of socio-economic upheaval. The cognitive approach was a principal determining factor in considering the problem of the antinomy of the personal and social nature of the concept. The novelty of the study can be assessed by the fact that the idea of belonging to a small territory as regards a particular ethnic group can be expressed through cultural interaction.
