Our exploration will refer to ancient Greece, with its concept of techné; the Middle Ages and the Modern Period as a crucial stage where physical education was born. Our aim in this paper is to rescue the notion of body technique as a broad concept, present in every human activity, valuing it as a traditional human construction in what refers to the uses of the body. This vision is an attempt not to reduce the concept of technique to that of a technology of the body, loyal to a technicality that has been dominant since the end of the XIX century and is very much present in education.... view less
