Entwicklungslinien und Merkmale des Bolzplatzes: Informelle Fußballkultur zwischen Spiel- und Sportplatz im Wandel

Abstract

Bolzplätze finden sich in zahlreichen Gemeinden als Sport- und Spielstätten. Dennoch existiert bislang weder eine anerkannte Definition des Bolzplatzes noch ist dessen historische Entwicklung bislang näher aufgearbeitet worden. Im allgemeinen Verständnis stellen Bolzplätze einen Ort für freizeitbezogene Fußballspiele dar, der dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass die fußballerischen Aktivitäten von den Spielern selbst organisiert werden und keine Einflussnahme durch Vereine und den organisierten Sport erfolgt. Mit dem Ziel einer Bestandsaufnahme von zentralen Kennzeichen des Bolzplatzes und einer Erkundung von dessen wichtigsten Entwicklungslinien unternimmt der Beitrag eine definitorische Annäherung an den Bolzplatz als Zwischenform von Spiel- und Sportplatz. Im Ergebnis wird gezeigt, dass das Aufkommen und die Ausweitung einer Bolzplatzkultur nicht nur Ausdruck der Fußballentwicklung ist, sondern dass sich in Bolzplätzen auch Aspekte der Kinder- und Jugendpolitik, des Baurechts und Lärmschutzes sowie der Gesellschaftsgeschichte des Landes widerspiegeln.

A "Bolzplatz" can be found in many municipalities as sports and playground. However, there is neither a generally accepted definition of a Bolzplatz, nor has its historical development been worked out in detail. According to common understanding a Bolzplatz represent a place for leisure oriented recreational football matches, that is characterized by specific characteristics - predominantly that the activities are organised by the players themselves and no influence is exerted by clubs and organised sport. With the aim of taking stock of central characteristics of the Bolzplatz and exploring its main steps of development, the article takes a definitional approach to this specific kind of football fields. Attention is paid to the character of these pitches as an intermediate form of playground and sports field. It will be shown that the emergence of Bolzplatz related culture is not only an expression of the evolution of football, but also reflect aspects of the country's childhood and youth policy, of building law and noise regulation as well as its leisure development.
