The desire for relations of solidarity - central to their practices - are a utopian moment visualizing community and the common that can only be realized within and by these desired relations. The politics of LGSM are a way to think political solidarity that does not ground in shared identities but in similar experiences of oppression and a shared opposition to neoliberal politics. For this idea of solidarity the tension between unity and difference is challenging. In order to conceptualize solidarity under the condition of difference, I finally suggest to speak of a 'solidarity to come'.... view less
