Innerhalb der Diskussion um 'mehr Männer' in Erziehungs- und Bildungseinrichtungen werden widersprüchliche Erwartungen an männliche Fachkräfte gestellt, die in verschiedene, teils diametral entgegengesetzte Männlichkeitsbilder münden. Dabei zeigt sich eine bestimmte Form fürsorgender Männlichkeit, die gleichzeitig als hegemoniale Männlichkeit beschrieben werden kann, da sie einerseits punitive Tendenzen aufweist und andererseits durch die Abwertung mittels Feminisierung charakterisiert ist. Diesem Verhältnis wird mithilfe einer quantitativen Erhebung unter Studierenden der Erziehungsund Bildungswissenschaften nachgegangen. Discussions around having "more men" in educational institutions make different expectations of male professionals. These result in different, sometimes diametrically opposite images of masculinity. A kind of "caring masculinity" emerges in the course of this process. It can be described as hegemonic, since it is characterized by punitive tendencies as well as devaluation through feminization. This relationship is investigated by means of a quantitative survey analysis. It shows that there is a total indirect effect (mediation), that is although there is no direct link between feminization and punitiveness, the mindset of hegemonic masculinity proves to a unifying element.... view less
