Auf der Suche nach der fragmentierten Arbeit: über produktive Irritationen im Sekundäranalyselabor

Abstract

Arbeitsteilung ist ein zentrales Thema der Arbeitssoziologie, und damit verbunden das der Kooperation. Beide Themen gewinnen durch die Fragmentierung von Arbeit eine neue Aktualität und damit werden grundsätzliche theoretische und methodische Fragen aufgeworfen. Dieser Schluss ergibt sich aus den Erfahrungen mit der vor allem sekundäranalytisch angelegten Untersuchung "Fragmentierte Arbeit in der Automobilindustrie", die nach Entwicklungslinien fragmentierter Arbeit fragt. Primärmaterialien aus mehreren SOFI-Studien erlauben nicht nur die Rekonstruktion eines "nicht-fragmentierten" fordistischen "Nullpunkts" des Produktionssystems, sondern sie zeigen zugleich, wie eng der Fokus der damaligen "Arbeitsplatzsoziologie" (Hack) dieser fordistischen Logik folgt. Diese fordistisch-arbeitsplatzsoziologische Perspektive wurde bis heute nicht völlig überwunden und deshalb wird die Arbeitsanalyse der zunehmenden Fragmentierung noch nicht wirklich gerecht. Die sekundäranalytische Suche nach der fragmentierten Arbeit legt theoretische und methodische Schwachstellen offen und inspiriert zugleich zu einer Neuakzentuierung arbeitssoziologischer Analysekategorien (speziell der Kategorie der Kooperation) und Methodik.

Division of labor is a central theme of sociology of work, and with it cooperation. Both topics gain new relevance against the background of an ongoing fragmentation of work and this raises fundamental theoretical and methodological questions. This follows from the experience with the research project "Fragmented Work in the Automotive Industry", which is mainly carried out as a secondary analysis and inquires the developmental lines of fragmented work. Primary materials from several SOFI studies allow the reconstruction of a "non-fragmented" Fordist "zero point" of the production system and also show how closely the focus of the former "workplace sociology" (Hack) follows this Fordist logic. This Fordist-workplace-sociological perspective has not been completely overcome to this day and therefore work analysis is not really suitable for increasing fragmentation. The secondary-analytical search for fragmented work reveals such weak points and at the same time inspires a re-accentuation of analytical categories (especially the category of cooperation) and methods.
