Über 7.700 Personen zwischen 18 und 69 Jahren gaben 2016 in persönlichen Interviews Auskunft über ihr Weiterbildungsverhalten, im Rahmen einer Erhebung im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF). Die Ergebnisse der Befragung wurden nun ausführlich analysiert und kommentiert. Neben dem zentralen Thema Weiterbildungsbeteiligung informieren die repräsentativen Daten auch über Bildungsbeteiligung, informelles Lernen, Bildungsberatung und Fremdsprachenkompetenzen in Deutschland. Der Bericht ist ein zentrales Arbeitsinstrument für die Forschung zu Bildung und Lernen im Erwachsenenalter. In Germany, participation in continuing education has been on a respectable level since 2012. In 2016, 50 per cent of all adults were active in continuing education and training. Based on these findings, the Adult Education Survey (AES) 2016 provides numerous detailed results, which are presented in the final evaluation report. The authors of this report analyse and comment the representative data with regard to key issues, such as: Who are the participants of continuing education and for what period of time do they participate? Who does not participate? Which are the prerequisites for participation? The report is a key working base for research on adult education and learning.
