This article examines a study by Theodor Adorno about the radio phonic utterances of the extreme right-wing political activist in the USA, Pastor Martin Luther Thomas, in the 1930s. In examining these discourses through the method of content analysis, Adorno sought to understand the motives that led individuals to perpetuate the same economic relations as their forces had overcome, instead of replacing them with a superior and more rational form of social organization.
