La tesis fundamental de este análisis estriba en que la nueva división internacional del trabajo, debida al proceso de globalización del sistema capitalista, influyó de manera determinante en el proceso que bajo el nombre de restructuración o perestroika surgió en la antigua Unión Soviética. Este intento de restructuración tenía como objetivo, según lo expresara el mismo Gorbachov en su momento, que la URSS entrara en el siglo XXI como una gran potencia. The main thesis of this work lies on the fact that the New International Labor Division as result of globalization process had a fundamental influence on the soviet perestroika. Nevertheless this attempt had not sucess because of the estructural problems of the soviet society and also because of the great powers pressures on the ancient Soviet Union.
