Democracia y socialismo: una relación posible

Abstract

En este artículo la autora examina el desarrollo del itinerario intelectual de Norberto Bobbio en torno a la relación entre democracia, liberalismo y socialismo. El texto se guía por una interrogante central en el pensamiento de Bobbio: ¿puede sobrevivir la democracia política en una sociedad no democrática? Según la autora, en los modos posibles de responder esta pregunta se puede encontrar la conexión entre los tres aspectos presentes en la relación entre democracia y socialismo: los derechos sociales, la extensión de la democracia y el mercado.

In this article the author examines the development of the intellectual itinerary of Norberto Bobbio regarding the relationship between democracy, liberalism and socialism. The text is guided by the central inquiry of Bobbio’s thought: can a political democracy survive within an un-democratic society? According to the author, in the different manners in which this question can be answered, lies the connection between the three aspects present in the relationship between democracy and socialism: the social rights, the extension of democracy and the market.
