Este artículo explora las tres principales propuestas de autonomía que fueron planteadas y discutidas por diferentes actores en los momentos de mayor importancia que alcanzó el movimiento indígena mexicano, entre el levantamiento zapatista de 1994 y la aprobación de la reforma constitucional en materia de derechos y cultura indígena en 2001. Con base en seis aspectos fundamentales, el autor compara y expone los postulados centrales de las propuestas de autonomía regional, comunal y municipal. This article explores the three main autonomy proposals that were put forward and discussed by several actors over the period when the Mexican indigenous movement achieved its greatest influence, between the zapatista uprising in 1994 and the passing of the constitutional reform on indigenous culture and indigenous rights in 2001. On the basis of six fundamental aspects, the author compares and expounds the central features of the regional, communal and municipal models of autonomy.
