Confianza, capital social y desempeño de organizaciones. Criterios para su evaluación

Abstract

En el marco del análisis del capital social, el presente artículo aborda el tema de los criterios apropiados para evaluar el papel de la confianza en las asociaciones civiles. Propone dos niveles: por una parte, la capacidad de estas asociaciones de generar confianza interna con rasgos cívicos y de coadyuvar al desarrollo de confianza generalizada y de actitudes y conductas cívicas; por otra parte, reflexiona sobre la conveniencia de utilizar la distinción entre diversos tipos de confianza, a fin de establecer si alguno de ellos favorece más que otros la cooperación y un desempeño satisfactorio acorde con los objetivos fijados por esas asociaciones.

Within the analytical framework of social capital, this article approaches the subject of the appropriate criteria to evaluate the role of trust in civil associations. It proposes two levels: on the one hand, the associations’ capacity to produce internal trust with civic characteristics and to develop generalized trust and civic attitudes and behavior; on the other hand, it reflects on the convenience of using the distinction between diverse types of confidence, in order to establish if some of them favor cooperation more than others as well as a satisfactory performance according to the associations' objectives.
