En el presente artículo se exponen tres de los momentos más relevantes de la investigación en la radio indigenista. Se argumenta que la radio cultural indigenista ha forjado un modelo de comunicación sin precedentes en el país y en la región. Asimismo, se señalan las principales características de dicho formato radial: interlocución con sus audiencias; a quiénes interpelan a partir de su lengua y cultura; reactivación de repertorios culturales implícitos en la palabra y recreación de elementos de identidad indígena. Por otro lado, también se analizan los nuevos desafíos comunicativos (radio migrante, usos sociales de los teléfonos celulares, internet); los contenidos bajo el discurso de una relación igualitaria y los medios para crear espacios a las manifestaciones culturales contemporáneas de la región, entre otros.... view less

This article examines three of the most relevant research periods on indigenous radio, arguing that this branch of broadcasting has forged a model of communication without precedent in the country or region. It identifies as well, the main characteristics of the aforementioned radio format: interaction with an audience that participates through culture and language, and the reactivation of meaningful cultural repertoires implicit in the words that recreate elements of a native identity. Finally, the article also discusses new challenges that this kind of broadcasting is now facing, (migrant radio, social uses of cellular phones, internet); of how to rethink its content in the context of a more egalitarian relationship, and how to provide spaces for contemporary cultural manifestations emanating from the regions involved, among others.... view less
